game grumps didn’t just dodge a bullet they dodged the whole clip
And then Jon fired again. And then he missed. And then Jon fired, and then Jon
fired, and Jon missed. Jon missed both times. And then he fired. And he
missed. This went on for several hours. And then he fired. And then he
missed. And then he was out of bullets. And then Jon got sad. Jon had a
popsicle. And then Jon passed out in the snow. Then Jon woke up, and then he
reloaded. And then he fired. And then Jon missed. He missed again. He fired. Jon
hit something, but it wasn’t what he was going for, so I guess he missed. He passed out again. Had another popsicle. Jon had a dream that he was
firing at something.
everyone: batman #16!!! all the batboys eating lunch and being a family omg its so funny look at jason stealing damian’s toy and bruce is such a dad!!! such a good comic i’m so glad we got a moment like this!
me, bitter as fuck, arms crossed, glaring at my screen and refusing to be happy: give me tim drake the fuck back
ppl are reblogging this but simultaneously laughing about batman #16 on their blogs / reblogging edits / going “lol i’m both” and i really don’t think y'all understand just how goddamn bitter i am about this comic and why i made this post in the first place
because like… you literally can’t be both– that’s the point.
timothy jackson drake fucking wayne is the epitome of why “batman needs a robin” and has nearly 30 years history in batman comics. he was the first robin to have had a (nearly 200 issue) solo run, and the robin that characterizes the “commonly known” version of robin, from skills to logo– yes, almost all robin logo merch is TIM’S logo– and a complex character that thousands of younger readers enjoyed because he was accessible and relatable.
and in some ways, you could claim that the “batfam” as you know it didn’t exist until he came along and sacrificed literally everything he had to pull bruce back together and dragged dick back into it, too. he gave up everything he fucking had to search for bruce after the crises ala the plot of red robin, even when literally NO ONE believed him and tim has always given so much for his family and friends–
but dc has reduced him to one sided character traits, tech support, taken away his absolutely integral backstory to turn him into a selfish prick who put his parents lives at stake to ~be a hero~, made it so that his name isn’t even fucking tim drake, diminished all his historic relationships, and then “killed him off”, throwing in some empty one liners about his friends “missing him” that are supposed to be worth something when they don’t mean shit because writing hasn’t backed it up in 6 years.
so seeing that comic literally toss him to the side– while the family he was supposed to have significant, developed relationships with laughs and jokes together and barely tosses out more than a word of remorse about him– when tim would have gone to the ends of the earth and given his life to search for them and bring them back in any way he could– fucking HURTS.
and you literally can’t be both if you understand that.
some slides from a panel i’ll be doing at madicon about making jokes, taking risks, and how to handle fallout from a fumbled joke as a content creator and also just as a human being.
Never apologize for jokes. Because odds are, the people who are offended don’t actually matter.
thanks now i have an excuse to reblog this: your advice is really weird and bad to most normal people. you should actually read my post instead of getting offended and overly defensive at the mere idea of possibly being wrong
so i was trying to google that scene in pirates of the caribbean where jack and will are walking underwater with the rowboat over their heads cause it looks cool and i wanna try it
but the thing is i googled “boat scene in pirates of the caribbean”
